- Collect your pictures of details you like from our gallery, magazines, books or flyers.
- Consider what style do you like, formal, traditional, european, etc.?
- Think about what you would use on the floor, tile, wood, light colors, etc.
- What kind of countertop would you like to have, granite, solidsurface, laminate?
- What kind of lighting will you have? Undercabinet lites?
- Who is the primary cook and do you often have more then one person cooking at a time?
- What type of cooking do you do? Do you need a lowered area for bread rolling? Heavy duty cutting board?
- Consider the work triangle between the major appliances.
- Do you want a open kitchen suitable for entertaining, or a more efficient galley kitchen with everything at hand?
- Do you need/want a ventalation hood? Or is the hood to be a focal point for design?
- Where do you eat your meals, at the island, dining room?
- Other activities in the kitchen, computer, homework, sewing?
- How do you buy your groceries? Do you need a large pantry or other method to store grocieries?
- Gas or electric for your stove. Cook top and built-in oven or a range?
- What accessories do you want? Cuttlery drawer? Spice Racks? Roll-Out Trash/Recycling?
